How can I get my boyfriend to clean up after himself?

He always says he will but then he starts watching tv, so I do it. Cause im a clean freak. At first I didn't mind but now its just annoying. I have to clean up after him about 3-4 times a day. He cooks supper and leaves veggies out on the cupboard, and things open all over the place. I spend 2 hours cleaning my room and he trashes it in like 10 minutes. Im getting sick of it! I almost broke up with him twice over this. It's stupid! What can I do! I can't always clean up after him. Jeez hes 18 years old!
