Any idea how to humanely get rid of mice?

Well, I am a real softie and hate killing anything. Unfortunately we have mice running amock in our house. Doesn't help that my children leave food lying around for them. Anyway, I need to try and humanely remove them - any tips or advice regarding traps etc?
