Does eye contact mean anything to a guy?

Ok so there is this boy, Ben, hes a junior and Im a freshman and like we see eachother in the hallway all the time and the first time I noticed him was when he CLEARLY checked me out like not even slyly but ya so my friend was like jeez that guy hella gave you the up down and I was like hm. haha So i started paying more attention to him and we now ALWAYS make eye contact like all my junior friends are like damn Ben was hella checking you out today but i feel like their just saying that. I doubt he actually wants to get with me because the last few girls he has gottten with are super pretty and popular and honestly im just average, i dont really compare to those girls. but every time I look over at him he's already looking at me. Do guys do this a lot or is he into me?
