Why do all the girls at my school freak out cause im bisexual?

recently i figured out i was bi so i decided i didn't wanna be stuck in the closet till i leave high school so i came out and most oft eh guys and all my friends are cool but girls that aren't my friends freak out for some reason i thought i would be more accepted by them then the guys jeez
