Questions about PETA and factory farming?
I recently saw the PETA "Meet your Meat" thing on Youtube, and it has led me to consider going vegetarian, or at least cutting down on meat, particularly red meat. But I have to wonder, how much is PETA exaggerating on this? What percentage of farms are factory farms? If I go to my local Stop&Shop, can I be sure that the cows these steaks were made from were raised on factory farms? Where can I buy meat where I can be sure the animals were treated humanely (not many local farms around here though) I have no problem with eating meat if the animals are treated humanely, but if it's so hard to avoid eating meat from cruel factory farms, then I'll probably give up or cut down on all meats except fish, or maybe go completely vegetarian (not vegan though) It wouldn't be too hard for me to accomplish, I like most foods, even those meat substitutes. I wouldn't be able to give up milk and cheese though, I couldn't last long as a vegan :P
